The gameplay is nearle same to that of previous Kiseki series with a few more changes. The largest change on the battle system and also counting as a brand new feature is the "Tactical Linnk " . This feature allows player follow up with three different types of link attacks, dealing about additional damage and providing various other advantages. As the story progress Tactical Link becomes more powerful ,more useful and the characters level up their Link Levels with their characters.When the link levels is increased in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel player will obtain new link abilities such as healing the link partner or enlarge the CP gain of the partner.Orbment is the another change made in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel. Falcom has announced downloadable content to the game in forms of the items that can be used in battle and cosmetic charges like everyday clothing for the characters.
